Dear all, Is there any way to automatically generate an ID for each stock item in Tally Prime? I mean, suppose we have diverse segments (i.e., departments) and each of which has several stock items available; and each department can either be categorized or grouped as the initial of the department name. Now, for department EC I want to create the stock items and also willing to have the ID for each item should be generated automatically in a fashion of ABC/EC/001 for item 1, ABC/EC/002 for item 2, and so on. Similarly, when we are on department MC, I want the id to automatically be generated as ABC/MC/001 for item 1, ABC/MC/002 for item 2 of that department and so on. Is there any default availability of doing so in Tally Prime? Or there is any way of any TDL to be implemented for? If you can provide me the source code of the TDL to implement this, it will be appreciated. Or may I ask you for any guidance to put the TDL down myself, please? Thank you in anticipation.

ABC: It stands for the initial of company name. EC/MC: It stands for the initial of department name created as Stock Group. What I want to accomplish is to automatically generate the ID for each stock item where the numerical part gets incremented each time the item is created.
