Why Tally still uses a flat file System rather than a database system

    With increasing accounting rules and gst complications. Wont a dbase system make the application work faster and easily scalable
     



  2. but ??? tally is successful becoz it is different ??? it should not try to copy others and lose its usp ..... simple

    tally have been able to best in indian markets as it have specific needs ??? --- this rarity make its great

    I think it's also a database similar to mongo DB, but it inhouse developed and XML based

    As per my knowledge
    I can say their database design is good, but data access layer is where there are problems
    and no proper error handling in whole tally application
    single error can force close entire application
    and these are problems for TDL developer or Integration specialist
    not the end users
     



  4. end user are payers / and whole system is forcing to adopt tally ( CA - indian methods / free vewing capability / new CAs / whole system / practicality .... i was a busy fan myself have to change to tally / last 4 years -- now my observation is -- : it does the job well
