Dear Friends, Due to Corona , frequent lock downs are a new normal, employees can not go to offices and there is considerable demand to access office data from home. There are already some know ways in which Tally provides this facility: a. Tally remote access -inbuilt feature (Tally.Net users) b. Tally synchronisation c. In Browser reports (View Only) d. Tally Server. Apart from above, a lot other companies are marketing and selling .. .. some are selling Tally ERP 9 on cloud , ..Some are even selling some "Specially designed routers" .. Some are selling some kind of "Software" and one common thing in all these option is that they are charging an hefty amount for their product. But as per little knowledge and experiments.. there is absolutely no need to pay a single penny for accessing your office Tally license server from your home location and working on data on server. It can be easily done with some freely available VPN software or your existing Windows Server
There are many available....... Free as well as commercial. Commercial prices are also reasonable for SOHO........paid ones are better than free -- less security risk.

They have detailed information on its configuration on their website, besides that there are numerous video on YouTube explaining the process. On 25th May 2021, My efforts to move to new Work Culture.. i .e "Work from Home" got a major boost, when thieves (during lockdown) broke into our office and stole and stole 6 PCs (with key board + mouse, all cables) +2 Printers+ 1 laptop+ 1 TB Portable Hardisk .. some other items. (noticed yesterday) so a big Kudos to them ...
Sad and pained to hear that............Hope all your data was backed up. I have suffered anguish and pain due to data loss on 2 occasions, costing me a few big Clients.....and lots of lots of efforts to cover up the shortfall. On a lighter note -- many times I have dreamed that thieves should break into IT office and clean off all the files...
Yes, I had moved the Server to my residence along with Data, and a few systems and printer. I keep multiple copies of backups.. taken three times in a day. Dream accha hai.. jab tak dream hai..
