Why Don't you use JSON...Means Who use XML Nowadays ? Just Create a report which have the data you want and create a function which will Export that report... It's easy

Yes you can Create a custom report Use XMLTAG attribute to define tag names (at part , line , field level) Then set SVEXPORTFROMAT to XML Then export the report.
