Firstly – Congratulations!! to TALLY Solutions for introducing the fresh all new Tally Prime. Very interesting User Interface (UI). It takes a couple of hours getting used too, but overall it’s a shift from the old to the new.

Secondly – Has anybody noticed the F5 right-hand control panel? It seems to be blank but in reality, this F5 key is to DISPLAY (1) Condensed Mode, or (2) Detailed Mode. Is this a system BUG or has it been overlooked by the developer? I am just very curious to know as I was a developer and also have a very keen eye for detail.

There is no Bug.... many buttons have been multi tasked. You can see an arrow on the right side of button, which gives multi option.

Try pressing ALT or CTRL in reports and see the button changing.

Hmm. Thank you Amit for the prompt response. I got your point. However, the F5 button has only 2 functions that of Condensed or Detail. Instead of leaving it blank, Tally could indicate to the user that this is a DISPLAY button this would help new users to Tally.

Thank you and have a good evening. Take care.

Many such buttons in Prime..... e.g Ctrl R, Ctrl U (Line hide and Line restore) ..... earlier Alt R and Alt U.

You should suggest your thoughts / feedbacks to Tally Solutions -- and maybe they will have a indication or guideline for any new users.

Yes, I have sent in my feedback to Tally as I have been a Licensed user from way back in the early 90's when Tally was on MS-DOS and I have been using Tally ever since and its my passion to experiment with ever new version of Tally.

Since, I am a member of this Forum just wanted to express my view for new users and old.

Amit your comments have been extremely helpful as always.

Thank you Amit. Nice to know that you too are from the DOS era. Well I must say technology has come a long way from those days. I started my career way back in 1982 when computers & software were unheard off and the company I worked for purchased an HCL Workhorse System that cost over ₹ 5 Lakhs in those days and the company took on loan to buy one. Ever since then, I have been very active in application development and a great fan of TALLY. Yes, I have worked on Tally but with the security disk (1.44 mb floppy disk) that version was also 4.0. The dongle was the next version if I'm not wrong.

I am now a Strategic Management Consultant for RPA & AI driven technologies coupled with Business Excellence & Operations Management.

I would be open to any questions from this forum based on my skill of 35 years and if a company or someone can benefit that would be the GOAL.

Thank you for you expertise. Most appreciated.
